Today, we will start chapter 6 of business studies i.e. Staffing.
We will Understand the concept of Staffing & steps of Staffing process including - estimating manpower requirements, recruitment, selection, orientation, placements, performance appraisal, promotions & compensation.
We will understand concept of recruitment, sources of recruitment and their merits and demerits. We will study internal sources of recruitment including transfers and promotions. And we will study external sources of recruitment including direct recruitment, campus placements, advertisements, web publishing etc.
Later, we will then look at the SELECTION PROCESS which includes steps like - preliminary screening, selection tests, interview, background & reference check, selection interview, job offer & employment contract.
And by the end, we will understand what training & development is. What are the benefits of training and development to the employee and organization? What are the different methods of on the job and off the job training? We will cover everything including apprenticeships, internship, coaching, job rotation, classroom training, vestibule training, films, case study, computer modelling & programmed instructions.
