Top fighting tip 1. Cast Minor illusion so enemies get together (if possible before a fight). 2. Make them wet = Quicken spelled bonus action to cast create water (the higher spell slot the bigger AoE). 3. Cast any of your lightning AoEs. 4. Use desructive wrath! VOILA, you just did like 1000 dmg.

Dude this is such an awesome build. Love your videos and in depth explanations like the extra stuff your stats cover BESIDES the core function of your character like int for wizards as an example. Please do more caster class build videos! Also i like your style man, loading the info up front. Shows you don't care about the views in and of themselves but actual subject matter. I never actually click away after your intro, always worth while to listen thru the entire video. Unlike so many YouTubers stretching a 30 second topic into 10 minutes for the advertisements

35:15 Haven't seen anyone mention it while skimming the comments, so I am going to: In the Tabletop you can also cast in heavy armor. The restriction is that you have to be proficient with the armor you wear in order to be able to cast spells. Tempest Cleric gives you proficiency in heavy armor (in adition to the light and medium armor that all clerics get proficiency in).

You can switch gear around a bit for really good cantrips. Use the Alfira robe to add your charisma to cantrip damage, the ring to add your charisma again and the dragon ancestry to add it again. But the staff that adds a draconic element will add 4 to the damage as well.

With 1 ability improvement, ethels hair, and the mirror you can get your charisma to 22.(24 with the hat) This means your cantrips deal 18-21-25 damage before they roll dice. So Warcaster makes your reaction attack 3d8+18-21-25. If they are wet 6d6+36-42-50. This will ALWAYS be better than the tempest cleric reaction. So the cleric reaction is not as good. Though it does have more opportunities.

This turns the shocking grasp cantrip into an absolute monster. It let's you annihilate low stakes conflicts without blowing spell slots.

You can also get your armor to 22-24 and have the shield spell. So you can very effectively become a melee sorcerer

This build rocks. At level 5, I accidentally one shot The Hag by quicken spell to Create Water to give her the Wet condition, then Chromatic Orb/Sphere (w/e it's called) for Lightning, max damage with my channel divinity and used my illithid crit to deal 124 DMG, lol. Had to redo it cuz we needed the hair.

Most of the Myconid Colony/Underdark gear mentioned in the video is actually from Moonrise Tower/Shadow Cursed Lands in Act 2 if anyone else is thinking they missed them.

I believe by going sorcerer, you get proficiency in constitution saving throws, which means it's essentially redundant to pick resilient as a feat. It's like getting resilient for free, which is nice because then you can focus on getting something else for your two feats

I have a tempest cleric wizard multiclass and I can cast my wizard spells while wearing heavy armor.

You can go slightly heavier into cleric for more channel divinity charges. Specifically, going 6 cleric, 5 sorcerer, and 1 wizard, still lets you have 2 feats and lets you scribe new spells. You're missing on that resistance from sorcerer, but you get the spells (like call lightning) from being level 5 in cleric.

Stats can favor heavier wisdom, for example-
17 cha
14 wis
14 con
12 dex/int
10 dex/int
8 str

Every time you ask people to subscribe, I am spiritually casting Guidance on you.

If the metric doesn’t improve, we stop making persuasion rolls and start rolling intimidation. (I’ve got an in with the Ironhand leader.)

There's a massive issue with taking Sorcerer levels first. The Spell Save DC from items and scrolls are calculated using the last NEW class you took a level in, not your highest level class.
What this means is that if you take Sorcerer first, followed by Cleric, then followed by Wizard all the spells you cast from scrolls or items (The staff that lets you cast Lightning Storm falls under this category) will be cast using your intelligence to calculate DC so enemies will constantly be saving their saving throw checks.
That being said I think it makes most sense to take Sorcerer last. You really want to be taking advantage of that high charisma for all of your spell DC calculations. Level up whichever way feels best for you but I would highly recommend releveling around level 7 and going 2 Cleric, 1 Wizard and then Sorcerer until level 12.
It seems counterintuitive but this is the only way to ensure that every spell you cast will use Charisma as the Spell Save DC.

When you have multiple casting stats, it’s important to pick the spells with saving throws only under the highest stat. Where possible, your spells under other stats should all be buffs & utility, or spells (magic missile, blade ward) without saves.

So, for funsies. If you're hasted, you can cast create water from the cleric spell list first. Any enemy standing in water will become vulnerable to lightning and cold damage (vulnerable=double damage)

This is the build I'm using now! Fun to see your take on it.
I like the Wood Elf Charlatan for race and background. That gets you Stealth, Perception, Sleight of Hand, and Deception before you even touch your classes.
I also like, for RP purposes, to do 1 level of Cleric, then 1 level Sorcerer, and finally 1 level Wizard before cycling around. That way you get all of your cantrips when you're still low enough level for it to matter, and your ability to maximize damage comes on line just as you'll be getting your first Lightning or Glyph of Warding scrolls.
Biggest problem is that the stats will never be enough to cover everything. You end up gear dependent no matter what.

So glad you made this video as I was brainstorming about this build, made a drow storm sorc/Tempest cleric, I had not thought about a level in wizard.... may have to try it

When you initially pick your spells for cleric it's always a good idea to select create water to further amplify your electric damage

I have tried this build and it ended up being one of my favorites ever. Now, I do wonder why more people seem to undervalue going further into Cleric. Most builds I see feature 8-10 Sorcerer levels and 2-4 Cleric levels. I actually felt going 6/6 between them to be incredibly powerful. Cleric level 6 knock back is actually very useful from my experience. Debuff everyone with reverberation, disable reactions and massive area of effect knockback and some of the most impressive damage I've seen besides Paladin when you upcast a lightning spell on a wet target.

Amazing build idea! We appreciate all your hard work! I get intimidated by having more than two classes on a character so props lmao
