Reviewing Hobonichi 2021 While We Wait For 2022 Haul: Cousin A5, Original A6, Avec, Weeks Techo

24 Sept 2021. REVIEW: HOBONICHI 2021 TECHO + SOME COVERS (Hobo and Galen) -- PLS STAY TUNED FOR PART 2: THE 5 YEAR TECHO. How I have been using my Hobonichi and some covers in 2021. How they have worked for me, or not, and why. Hopefully, any of my experiences and thoughts here might be of some use to you! #StationerySeptember is running late this year since my Hobonichi 2022 parcels wont be here until mid-October 2021.

Part of me wanted to get it over and done with so I decided to try everything in 2021. The the part hates the idea of multiple planners and / or journals. It was not an ideal combination. So with a better clarity of purpose, after wasting the A5 Avec 2021, I am trying them again for 2022. The A6 Avec organically found its use in the second half of 2021. So I will be using them again in 2022 in the same manner. Two sets of Avec for 2022. One for the cat, and one for me. I am guessing I am going to end up with the larger book.

The stable anchors so far have been the English A6 as a memory keeper, and the Weeks as my actual organiser. The small size of the A6 is a struggle for me, but I have managed to make it work once I decided I am committed to it until the end of 2024 for reasons I explained in this video.

I've given up on allocating a planner for "financial planning" for the moment. The reality is that I don't really plan my finances in a certain way. An ideal techo for me for my financial purpose would've been one which can cover at least a decade, or even decades. I don't know that something like that exists and I am not holding my breath for one.

5 YEAR TECHO

I've actually stopped using the 5 year techo in Sept 2020 after a very frustrating time with repeating myself in it as I write entries into my 2020 journal (The English A6). It was only this month, a year later, that I picked up again, and find a fresh perspective about how the subsequent years can work for me. If you are experiencing something similar with your 5 year techo, don't be afraid to just leave it, and step away from it for awhile. Leave those pages, and sections, blank. More on that in my next video.

(The pretty 5 year techo cover I was talking about in this video was the embroidered linen cover which came with the techo, and not the cover you see here).

I was so excited to see this video. ❤😊 I have ordered a Hobonichi for the first time for 2022 - other planners I've been using have not been fountain pen ink friendly enough. I chose the A6 Planner, and apparently the shop's order is in Canada now but it is still working its way through customs. It is a different layout than I have used previously, having a day for each page rather than a weekly, but it is also physically smaller than the planners I've used previously so I think the amount of space will be good for me to be able to include everything (work life + appointments, spiritual life, book clubs / reading, etc). I treated myself to a cover -- glen plaid -- and a matching Lamy Safari Vista, which I think will all look great together in white, clear, black, and red. I am looking forward to its arrival so that I can start figuring out how I'm going to lay everything out. I have happily subscribed to your cat channel.

Shipping and delivery is delayed all over. I ordered a planner product and it arrived at port in September, and the company updated customers saying that the shipment sat in the container until this week because there aren't enough delivery/truck drivers. The mail system is also slower.... the new normal.
