Meanwhile if side-shot shells contact with tracks, they never bounce into side hull. They just disappear.

i was in Jumbo and bounced a Is-3, but got killed by T34-85 at >60 degree angle shot in center of front plate. Warthunder sometimes is someting trying to frustate

Reminds me of getting uptiered in my Hetzer. Was picking at a few KV-1s and Panzer 4s while a team mate in his Tiger did the actual killing. Suddenly he gets hit by an enemy tiger, so he deploys smoke while frantically repairing.
Now my idea to help him out with my outmatched Hetzer was to drive up further left and shoot through the smoke at where I last saw the enemy, maybe I could fool him into thinking his target had moved since deploying smoke.
Somehow my *BLIND SHOT* with a 75mm PAK39 at a motherfucking TIGER TANK didn't just hit, but actually destroyed him.
Don't know how or why, maybe I just lightly bruised his last spare crewmember, or set off his ammo, but my team mate sure thanked me...then got flanked by a sneeki breeki two minutes later.

I remember when I shot a IS3 with a M26 and the shell slid down the underside of the barrel ricochet off the gun mantlet and went through the drivers hatch. I tried to re create that in the hanger. Never was able to.

I did that once with a 76mm Sherman round to a Tiger II H. I felt so bad for him

This is quite historical, actually. Panther A suffered from this problem, as its gun mask occasionally led to bloody ricochets into tank roof. Due to this problem (and many others) germans developed later turret modification, including Schmalturm. Yeah, german's don't like to make things work in the first place, but absolutely love to upgrade.

Happened to me the other day sniping on sands of Sinai in my t44 was having a brainless shootout with a panther a and we were both enjoying it 😂 I had two shells left and he made a shot bounce off my turret into hull for a crew knock.
