I really wish people would stop comparing a book to its movie. Your imagination will always be better than some movie. Just take the book for what it is and take the movie for what it is.

between the billie eilish music, the gossip magazine that even the queen reads and the fact that this is just an enemies to lovers, arranged marriage au fic brought to life, and the fact that this is supposed to be a light hearted TV show...y'all wanna get mad at black nobility? 😭 not a single aspect of this show was meant to be serious nor educational y'all just wanna be racist

Just finished watching the whole series in one day. It got me hooked and i am still not over with it. All the scenes were so serene and the musical playing behind those scenes was cherry on top. I could feel the chemistry between the two and awww the love scenes were so PURE so GENTLE. Ohmygwaaaadddd !!!
One of the best series to end 2020.

This is pure escapism, fantasy and a mix of period drama with some modern twists.
It reminds me of some of the Baz Luhrmann productions.
Loved those too.
It’s good to think outside the box.
Why have predictable drama all the time.

Sofia Coppela's Marie Antoinette (2006) first introduced the idea of using current music in a historical movie. It underscores the idea that these are all the 'it' people of their time. What sounds old to us would have been the latest music for these young people. Using modern tunes helps make their parties appear like the coolest places to be.

I highly doubt this was meant to be taken as historically accurate, so everybody calm down. As for the poc casting, it was nice to see poc in a period drama as aristocrats and main characters for a change. No one is trying to pass it off as fact, and no one is trying to take away the hardships that poc had to face back then. This a work of FICTION, for people to enjoy and watch, if you want to watch a series with a historically-accurate cast you take your pick from the hundreds or even thousands of media available. Also, the characters are not so much forcibly diverse, since they are just poc actors playing a role, and the only time it is really brought up is once in the entire series, so stop using the 'historically accurate' and 'forced diversity' arguements when this was perfectly fine.

i wish they expanded more on the relationship between penelope and colin, they were my favorite part of the show. The actress who plays penelope stole my heart, loved her performance.

I started reading the Bridgerton books as soon as I saw the Netflix trailer. I love period movies and enjoy some of Jane Austin's books. I am now addicted to the books and binged watched the entire first season. Can't wait for season 2! I am glad I still have the books to read. Currently on "Romancing Mr. Bridgerton."

This was an absolute delight to watch. We need more period classics like this on Netflix.

As an avid romance reader since the age of 14 I´ve probably seen it all, especially when it comes to Regency novels.
While Julia Quinn is a staple and household name, has a remarkable reputation and biography, I could never bring myself to finish any of her books.
I don´t know what it was but somehow I could never truly empathize with her characters and always found them to be rather shallow.
Discovering this is still the case upon deciding to reread the Bridgerton novels before watching the TV show, I´m still delighted they chose to finally take on this genre and it was someone as successful and amazing as Julia Quinn whose story they decided to portray.
