Les, I gotta tell you. You saved my bacon 15 years ago when I found myself lost in the Pasayten Wilderness. I was on a 2 week solo trip, and went down the wrong river drainage. As soon as I realized what I had done, I stopped in a clearing. I took stock of what I had with me. I was fully set up for another week on the trail, so I was safe right then. I decided to make camp, relax, study my maps, and THINK. The next day I got to a trailhead and hitched a ride to the nearest town. I kept hearing your voice in my head. Don't panic. Set up your shelter. Figure out where you are. Then figure out how to get to a road.

15 years later I still use the sun and my hands to tell how much daylight I have...all because of you...thanks Survivorman.

Keeping the shots in that showed you retrieving/setting up cameras was 100% the right decision. It made your show really stand out. and proved its legitimacy compared to certain other survival shows.

These Directors Commentaries have been an amazing way to revisit these episodes from my younger days. Les adds so much context and makes me appreciate the episodes on an even deeper level. Thanks Les!

Hey Les, you'll probably never see this but Iv been watching your content since I was about 18, and I'm now 37. I didn't think your content could get any better, and you go and start doing Directors commentary. Thank you so so much for the years of top notch entertainment. You have made a life long fan. Next is your Wild Harvest series, can't wait!

Been a long-time fan of yours, Les. Was born in 94, and I'll never forget sitting in my parent kitchen with my bowl of cereal and just being so happy to catch each new Survivorman episode as a kid. It was my favorite show back then, and it still is now. Fingers crossed, we may get some more one day, but for now, absolutely loving these directions commentaries. From a kid from West Virginia, thank you so much for being part of making my childhood wonderful

I've lost count of the number of guys for whom Les was something of an extra father figure and remain grateful into adulthood as they share with their own kids. One of the most rewarding comments sections of any channel. I grew up with Ray Mears on British TV who will forever be the OG but Les is infinitely more watchable and insightful out in the field. Splendid watching! <3

I come back and check the sub count on this channel weekly. Les said he would have to get to a million subs to think about doing some survivorman episodes on here. I need that in my life. Also need more Bigfoot commentary.

As an Ontarian, and one who is now 30, and has watched you since i was a young lad. It brings me immense joy knowing you're from Ontario. I've loved everything you've done ever since i was little and while i may not be an outdoorsman, your shows are such a fantastic learning experience and something i hope to share to anyone who will watch from the younger generations. You really deserve to be part of every school curriculum across North America, Canada for sure at the very least. You are providing some of the greatest teachings from across the planet for people to learn and use to survive if in dire straits. Please continue being amazing.

56:08 "If you can see Christmas trees, that's a ton of great bedding material."
Can we appreciate that this was posted around Christmas time, and Les is just thinking "Hey, they make good bedding." 😄
Thanks for all the great content, Les. I've been watching you since the beginning.

I grew up watching this show with my dad, and I think it played a big part in shaping my character and especially my love/appreciation for the Canadian outdoors. What you have taught in your show I use all the time when I’m backcountry hunting or hiking and actually got me out of a bad situation once. Cheers

This man is my biggest influence. I've watched Les since the first Survivorman episode years ago. His filmmaking and music are the very reasons I have grown my own youtube channel.

I like falling asleep and picking back up where I left off the next time. A very relaxing listen to a Directors Cut. It does not put me to sleep because of it being boring, just very relaxing to watch and listen too.
