What can you do in ONE HOUR? | Productivity vlog | Painting, decorating and cleaning the house

Hey everyone!! This video is a little old (as I had it ready to post and then had to take some time off unexpectedly) so I wanted to pop it up as a bonus video this week before the bedroom makeover 🩷

Have you ever tried this productivity method? I set myself an hour long timer (twice, because I had such a good time the first time) and got to work seeing what I could get done around the house. I was able to clean, tidy, paint, decorate and DIY in the two hours I gave myself!

Absolutely adore how you make every place a home, not just a temporary place to store your stuff. Love your style and looking forward to more rental hacks. 💖

Very good idea to do the timed work! I’ll have to try that because (like you) I start 7000 things and finish 2.

This has given me the push to set a 'task timer' when I get home from work. Otherwise I'm just food-then-vegetate and chores are piling up around me to the point I don't know where to start!

I love your "make it better" episodes. They are my favorite! And I absolutely admire that you get all of this done while grieving.

I personally dont like curtains pooling on the floor, painting the red drawers white looks so much better, you certainly got a lot done in those two hours!!!😊

Great job! I've also been surprised at how much I can get done with a timer. It makes me stay focused so I don't get distracted...much. LOL! As for the curtain...I like it but as it is but it will be a dust catcher. Maybe hem it an inch off the floor???

Looking much better. If the paint keeps coming through. Stick some thin paper over the patch and paint on the paper.

Love what you do to make your place better. I would say for the closet the fabric should be hemmed.

Regarding the plant--they grow toward the light (as well as just being big), so you're supposed to rotate them regularly to help them grow straight. I know you won't like the way that looks, though! I've rotated one recently, and it does look a little silly, but I'm curious to see how long it will take to grow toward the light again...

I think the curtain could be a little shorter. Instead of cutting it though, just put the hooks a few inches higher inside the closet!

You need some damp cover paint for that nasty patch, get a small tin 0.5 L and have another go otherwise it will leak through again in 5 days. 👍 try toothpaste as a filler in the wood - it dries rock hard doesn’t need sanding easy to paint😁

That's an adorable apartment. You make it home wherever you are! Love your videos. Watching from Michigan in the United States.

you need to seal the damp patch with PVA glue thats watered down, then paint over x

hem it, I like curtains to hang slightly above the floor, or it always gets dirty and dusty.

Will you be able to take your doggies with you right away when you return to the UK, or do they have to go through a quarantine? Looking forward to seeing your vlogs when you return home. :)

What about using white contact paper or a bit of white wall paper on the patch. The landlord should be fixing as you didn't create the patch their other tenant did. The curtain works well to hide the closet. Maybe a rounded trellis might help your plant? Did you not have a headboard? might make you more comfortable. Well done Hermione :) you did more than I did today ;) still working on a diy fixing a nightstand front as well and adding a drawer pull and appliques.
