As a Minnesota kid, I was crushed when Janny didn't play. Jim showed us why Herb knew he was the right man at the right time between the pipes.

One of the most significant events in the US during the 20th century. The magnitude of that win cannot be understated.

Craig’s performance against the Soviets was otherworldly!

The last ten minutes were the most nerve wracking of any game I’ve ever seen.

He blocked shot after shot.

When he was draped in the flag afterwards….

😭…. It was great!

Jim Craig is a fantastic interview. You can tell by his slow response and return questions that he has experience as a motivation speaker

I was 11 years old...sitting in my living room watching on a black and white TV. Nobody else in my family cared to watch. I will NEVER forget that night. I'm an athlete and this team has always been an inspiration to me. Always will be. ❤

Heard they won the game at a Marshal Tucker Concert at University of Illinois. They stopped the show and the capacity crowd chanted USA, USA, USA for 15 minutes. Something I’ll never forget.

This was the a top 5 moment in my life. I was 11 and I’m now 55 but remember how special it was. We were very poor financially but rich in family and I’d love to redo that night.

The game was tape delayed but was live on radio. Driving home from work that afternoon, horns were tapping. USA, USA, USA. Got home and then watched the tape delayed broadcast. Even knowing the outcome did not lessen the excitement and joy of watch that team.

Because of the tape delay, my brothers and I (10-15 years old)were watching without knowing the outcome. We were down 3-2 in the third when our dad came home from the bar and announced, “We win this game!” We ignored him as best that we could. The last ten minutes were so stressful!

Years later a reporter doing a story asked Mark Johnson (I think it was him) what would happen if they played the Soviets seven to ten days later. He said they would beat us 7-2. A team with that much talent would never let a loss like that happen again.

His brother Danny played for us at New Hampton prep in NH. After the game, the school went crazy, drinking, up all night, no school next day, amazing.

As a Canadian the miracle on ice game vs the Soviets was shown live. Americans didn't even know they won because it was on tape delay ..some Americans knew the outcome due to living close to the border and from getting phone calls from Canadian relatives or friends. I was 10 but i remember it. I also remember they had to play Finland after and had to win that. What a team. RIP Herb Brooks.

I was headed to a Colorado Rockies ( remember them in the NHL ) game when we heard the score on the radio . Didn’t get to see the replay until later . Gave everyone a burst of pride .
