As a person very invested in the Sony/PlayStation Eco System I agree it’s stupid and really weird I don’t know they know how much people love Bloodborne and how well the Demons Souls Remake did if they did a overhaul remaster on Bloodborne and then release it on PC they would make more money than just remaking more recent games

It's easier in every measurable way (cheaper as well) to remake/remaster more recent titles than it is to do so with older ones. 1 console generation vs 2 is going to make a considerable difference on the actual cost and time investment. Plus they usually do it with games that are in some kind of continuity/series, which inevitably sees an increase in sales when the sequel in said continuity is going to release.

When I heard TLOU2 being rereleased on PS5 I just said “Legacy of Kain… Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, hell CRASH BASH!!! But you remake a game that’s not even a full 4 years old yet”???

It's simply cheaper to remaster a game that doesn't need to be remastered. Doesn't help that some fanbases are special enough to buy the same game 3 times.

I thought this was a serious critique of Sony remastering games too soon but then he basically said why is Sony remaking HZD (2017) when they should remaster Bloodborne (2015). That's when i realized that this was about Bloodborne.

I find, a lot of good games don't get rebooted due to contract* dispute, or cost, time demand, and amount of staff needed is so high that no matter how much expected profit, it's not worth the price in there eyes

It is weird for sure, but if you compare the rest of the industry, why wouldn’t you exploit the hell out of what are possibly the greatest games ever created?
