Schumann - Carnaval Op. 9 No. 12: Chopin

This is my performance of a piece from Schumann's Carnaval, entitled "Chopin." Short but beautiful, this piece was written by Schumann to be a musical characterization of Chopin. Although some believe that Chopin did not have a very high opinion of Schumann's composing abilities, it's remarkable how well this short composition encapsulates the feelings of romance, tragedy, and mysteriousness which typically define Chopin's work.

I used to have an older recording of this piece on my channel, but I decided to record and upload this newer version now that I have a better setup for recording high quality audio and video.

I really enjoy how you brought out the melody! I can't wait to play some of the carnival pieces over the next few years, but for now Kinderszenen and Album for the Young will suffice :)
