First Man in Space - Yuri Gagarin - Vostok 1 - #shortsfeed

On April 12, 1961, the Soviets launched the Vostok 1 spacecraft, with prominent Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Gagarin had to undergo severe and vigorous training before the flight and the Soviets had to make sure he returned well and alive. To assure Gagarin’s safety and for the mission to be successful, the Soviets sent forth a prototype of the Vostok 1. Onboard, were a dog and accompanying it, was a human dummy. And admirably, Gagarin successfully made history by staying 108 minutes in space and orbiting Earth in the Vostok 1. As per the program, Gagarin ejected himself from the spacecraft, and landed on earth safely with the help of a parachute.
Today, if we are able to think of sending Humans to the Moon and Mars it’s all thanks to Yuri Gagarin, the first man in Space.
