EU needs a strategy for Critical Raw Materials

The EU's green and digital transition will lead to a much higher demand for critical raw materials.

The EU currently supplies only:

🔵 1% of the raw materials for wind energy
🔵 less than 1% of lithium batteries
🔵 less than 1% of fuel cells
🔵 2% of the raw materials used in robotics
🔵 1% of silicon-based photovoltaic assemblies

As we move towards the green and digital transition, our industry’s demand for critical raw materials will only increase.

It’s possible to balance this increased reliance on sustainably sourced critical raw materials and the need to protect nature and biodiversity. However, we need a comprehensive strategy.
