2023 is right around the corner and besides the excitement of new beginnings I was beyond thrilled to use and experiment with black paper. Being inspired by orcas, I thoroughly enjoyed the process and hope you like it as well!

I don't really understand why people say a bullet journal is ... to me I think it is whatever the owner wants it to be. For me it's a way of merging my love of creating, organising and inspiring me to be better. That's just me and others have more or less and that is ok as long as they are happy with it.

I cannot express how beautiful this set up is and how much it speaks to me. I will be using the Mermaid A&O, and I am an Aquarius. I plan on using a water, sea life and mermaid theme for the whole year. Mine will in no way be as stunning as yours but I thank you for the added inspiration.

Nala! I have missed you! What an AMAZING and beautiful setup you did. I can’t believe black paper had this potential. I love the Colo-iro paints. They really are magical for magical and beautiful animals <3
I remember having Pentel Milky pens and Sakura Gelly Roll pens growing up. They even came with a stencil and a diary with black paper. I still have it XD There are other Sakura Gelly Roll pens that are good for black paper such as Moonlight, Stardust, Soufflee, and metallic. One of them rises and puffs up for a 3D effect, and you can write on photos with them. There are also color-changing pens that act like the watercolors on black or white paper, too! I hope you get to play around and have fun with these new mediums.
I’ve taken a break from creative stuff and just focused on beginning BuJo elements, cuz I can’t sit for long anymore cuz of health issues. But you are right about having good routines. Thanks for that reminder <3 You’re so relaxing and inspiring and I can’t wait to catch up on more of your videos. Keep doing these. I really, really love the BuJo videos from you <33

I really enjoyed watching this setup come to life! The tools used to achieve that shimmer in the orcas were perfect! I really enjoyed everything about this...especially the friendly reminder in the beginning of the video. I hope to get back to sketching in my journal. Moving to a journal with white paper this new year, after spending this one in a black journal. Excited to see someone else use it and maybe get ideas for the one I still own. ✨️🖤

Use hairspray to keep the chalk from smudging. There are sprays made specifically for keeping charcoal and chalk from smudging but hairspray does the job well and way less expensive. There’s chalk pencil but I never tried them so I don’t know if they work the same way as traditional chalk do

I can kind of relate to the orca story. I love the ocean and I was obsessed with dolphins as a child and I loved seeing them up close. But they indeed aren't meant to live in captivity. I'd love to see wild dolphins some day, and one of my biggest dreams these days is to see a whale in the wild. The ocra paintings look so beautiful ❤️
