HOT WHEELS custom: Recreating @MattsMotors15 Mazda MX-5

I've recreated Matt Pollard and his dad Andy's Mazda MX-5, as featured on the @AutoalexCars channel. It was fixed up by Alex and friends, with a car show called Mattwood organised in Matt and his family's benefit. Matt was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at the age of 19 and the car community rallied behind them.

After teasing my Phil custom on Instagram, I noticed that Matt had begun following me. I recognised his name and immediately offered to recreate his MX-5. As there are several differences to Alex's modified MX-5 Phil, I chose a different Hot Wheels model to base Matt's car on. This utilised an older 1990s Hot Wheels car that didn't have the roll cage, flared arches, and other cast features in order for me to create the most realistic match that I could.

My only complaint is the putting the new seats on top of the old ones where you can still very clearly see the old seats. That set off my OCD really bad, but I guess it woulda' taken forever getting rid of the originals cleanly. Great job all-around!

Am I wrong the model car is right hand drive, and after cutting out the solid plastic disc steering wheel and replacing it you kept it left hand drive? Regardless you've made Matt's day, and ours! Have fun with your toys!
