Your home buyer tip of the day. Filmed this a year ago (and never got around to posting after Lucy Power's arrival kept us busy). Replace "spring market 2023" with 2024 and this is all still valid today. There will always be a reason not to buy.
For the first time buyers out there: it is impractical to think that 6 months from now, both home prices & interest rates will be lower.
Everyone's personal situation is different, and every purchase calls for due diligence. But if you are a buyer, the time to take action is now.
Buyer activity is usually slower in November & December, with many home seekers hitting the snooze button and saying "wake me up when the 2024 spring market begins."
When I say the time is now, I don't mean November 2023. I mean, the present moment. The present day. The best time to buy was yesterday.
This is the hand we've been dealt. The housing market is a mess. Affordability is not going to improve. No one is coming to save us. If your plan is to sit on your hands and wait until conditions improve, I'm not sure that's a plan at all.
This is the number one message I have for our first time buyer clients right now. The market is tightening, not loosening. The benefits of property ownership are plentiful, but it's going to take some open & honest discussion to get you over the finish line.
