English fan here and obviously happy with the result. Seeing a lot of fans here from Pak are despondent and I can relate entirely. We were recently destroyed in absolutely humiliating fashion 4-0 in the Ashes. A change of captain and mindset has improved the England test team in all aspects. From an outside perspective it looks like Pakistan need something similar. There is always so much talent in Pakistan and they don't seem to be using it well. They need to make lively pitches, pick some attacking batsmen and your fast bowlers. I don't see many sides beating Pakistan if they get their act together.

It was an excellent arm wrestle of a game, with each team holding the upper hand at times and then the other fighting back. I rated Pakistan favourites for significant portions of that last day and it's a shame that someone had to lose. Pakistan fans should take great heart from the fight their team showed, despite falling just short.
