Turning down $42k when your bottom price was $45k, on a vehicle that the ‘appraiser’ put a $40k evaluation on.
Plus appraiser mentioned a much lower mileage vehicle that sold for $55k but was resold 1yr later for $45.
I’m shocked that Rick actually made such a reasonable offer. The guy should have accepted.

The Amphicar is interesting to me because I went to school with a girl whose dad was a doctor and had one exactly like that one. The car is apparently in a museum in British Columbia though I can’t verify that it’s the same one.

It’s kind of sad in a way to see how little family Heirlooms are thrown away for. If I had something passed down for hundreds of years and generations upon generations of my family I’d feel I’d have to honour that and keep it going. To see someone flog a big part of their family history for a measly 2, 200 dollars is kind of sad
