I love IF and will never stop! I have to date lost 106 lbs and eat whatever I want, honestly! Now it has definitely changed my palate to where I don't want those 'goodies' nearly as often and it has naturally reduced my appetite to where I can't eat as much....all without feeling deprived! I absolutely love it and not only am I a woman, I'm a senior, 66, and it's the easiest weight loss program I have ever experienced! I will never go back to eating daily. I've done the 16:8. OMAD, and longer fasts including alternate day. Right now I'm eating on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only...fasting the other 4 days. I take my supplements daily, drink water and tea when needed. I have much more energy than when I was eating every day and can do more exercise, sleep so much better too! If I wasn't living it, I wouldn't believe it was possible. I've found my niche for sure!

You can do both, intermittent fasting and calorie reduction. I've lost 30 lbs. in two months. I think the trick is not to eat two meals instead of one when it is time to eat, just eat a normal size meal and one that is healthy rater then a Mcdonalds Cheese burger.

The answer? Yes. It’s especially good when you hit a plateau and need to keep losing weight. I’ve dropped 35 pounds since March 1st and this is partly why.

the only people who seem to think IF doesn't work are people who don't do it, or don't do it properly. I was 19 stone 7 lbs in December, writing this comment in 23 February 2023 and I'm 17st 12. I have been doing 16:8 ratio IF and it works incredibly well, very easy to do, I literally don't have to do anything, just limit eating to an 8 hour window and wait for the fat to melt off, brilliant, sustainable, wish I'd found out about this sooner.

IF is literally calorie restriction, thats the point behind fasting is that your eating less food in your fasting hours and also giving your body those 16-18 hours to get into ketosis which is how a keto diet works. Once into ketosis your body switches to fat burning for fuel instead of from the food you eat

I am a women, I do intermittent fasting, and it works great, I don’t eat 1 day, and then eat the next, but on the day I eat, I’m not eating like a pig, I eat 1 meal a day, no sugar, and a proper portion, and I have lost weight steadily. You cant loose weight if you’re over eating the wrong foods even when fasting. Common sense!

No explanation of the science as to why it would work or not.

I just started intermittent fasting after 3 months of being on prednisone (a corticosteroid) I went from 5’7 and 135 lbs to same height and 168 lbs in 3 months of this steroid! So I googled “IF” and it’s been a week now and my hunger pangs at night finally are gone and I drink SO much more water doing this and I lost 2 pounds. It sounds like nothing but when you have “moon face” out of nowhere from medication and never had a worry before it’s shocking to see your body change that fast and the 2 lbs is literally noticeable because prednisone makes you retain water SO bad and makes you crave sugar all the time. Intermittent fasting has somehow caused me to not crave sugar anymore?? I don’t even know how that worked? But because I’m drinking more water my face isn’t holding onto the little water it got before. My swelling has gone down as well. I’m sticking with IF and hopefully I’m slowly but SURELY getting OFF this prednisone. Never knew it made people gain weight when it is an anti-inflammatory. But over time it does. Coming off it is hard but I’m down to 1/4 pill a day and with “IF” I also feel better! It’s a yes for me I’ve never had something I wanted to try like fasting bc I didn’t need it and now it’s actually working for me. So I agree with the doctor…. Don’t overstuff yourself when you can eat! Just eat normally and then drink a ton of water when fasting and if I can see a change in one week (and I have Crohn’s disease which causes swelling in the stomach) then I’m sure anyone who really tries it, it will work for them too!
