Vijayanagara was once one of the top 2 or 3 cities in the world, but now it is an abandoned ruin. It's sobering to think of what can happen with time.

⚠️WRONG INTIMATIONS⚠️
The dynasties of Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo have always been Japan. It was the name of the eras or these era’s shogun that Ashikaga, Azuchi-Momoyama, and Tokugawa, and there was no dynasty name. The Japanese dynasty has remained unchanged since the 6C. Therefore, they should all be written as "Japan."

Thanks for including Tenochtitlan. Most videos like that like to exclude the great capital of the Aztecs

The first city which is shown here to reach 1 million population is Beijing in 1775, however, this was not the first city in history to reach 1 million. Rome reached 1 million population in 133 BC but after the Roman Empire fell the population drastically fell.

Very interesting and very well done.. Like the musical accompaniment. When a city changes its affiliation (say London goes from being the largest city in England to the largest in the UK), you might keep its rectangle unchanged but simply change the affiliation label rather than have it disappear under old affiliation and reappear under the new one. Some viewers may find this modification less distracting when viewing the relative changes among the ranking of cities.

Naples between 1713 and 1804 is mislabelled. The city wasn't part of the Spanish Empire in that time period.
Vienna is also mislabelled between 1791 and 1803, since the "Austrian Empire" didn't exist yet. "Habsburg Monarchy" could have been a more accurate label, but the most accurate label would have been either "(Archduchy of) Austria" or "Holy Roman Empire".

@Gozhda Love these videos. Please, can you make one on Gun laws in states? You don't have to go deep into it, just the year they gave or took away the right to: Open Carry, Conceal Carry, and buy (no permit required).

those figures are wrong.
New York has 8.8m inhabitants (2020, wikipedia), not 18, 937m in 2023 as indicated in this video
Moscow has 13.1m inhabitants (2023, wikipedia)

Now, if you talk about the New York Metropolitan Area, its population is 20m while Moscow region (incl. Moscow) has 21.7m inhabitants.

So as always, the anglo-saxons medias are biased and lying. :))) Who is surprised ?
