Elvira's Valentine - Building Worlds in Altspace VR [no audio]

Building virtual worlds inside of a VR headset is an amazing way to spend time exploring your creativity. I think the Metaverse can and should be messy; many of my projects in Altspace were for enjoyment of the immediate and the imperfection. In a way that's another beauty of VR - you can add as many stained glass windows to your cathedral as you want, even if the walls are a little crooked!

In this video I'm building the world "Elvira's Valentine" as a fun project for a friend's birthday gathering. Prior to filming I had imported objects and added effects around the space but wasn't really sure where they would go. This demonstration shows how quickly you could move and re-scale items in AltspaceVR while staying in first-person mode to build. This video has no music, but I was building and singing along! Putting on your favorite playlist and imagining worlds in real time, coordinating your movements to the sounds..so even creating the structure before you has its own harmony when it comes together, it's unforgettable.
