BYU should do this: Position Kalani (he is a real asset to BYU) to take over as the next athletic director when Tom leaves, hire Kellen Moore as head coach, and let go of Aaron Roderick as the offensive coordinator. Do whatever it takes to keep Jay Hill (pay him more than the head coach)—he’s an amazing defensive coach!

Let’s be honest, BYU’s offense has been weak for years. If it weren’t for key players like Zach Wilson, Tyler Allgeier, Jaren Hall, and standout receivers like Puka Nacua, they’d be like Houston with just a strong defense!

Kellen Moore would have to get a 2+ million contract to consider it. BYU should start looking to pay that because that's what Utah pays their coordinator.

Get Kellen next season as OC. If Kalani flops, get him or Jay in as HC.

I would drop Kalani in a second for Kellen Moore. Heck I'd drop him for Jay Hill. Ideally if you could get Kalani in an administrative role in the athletic department that would be great cause he's a great guy and people love him. But he doesn't have the killer mentality to be a highly successful head coach.
