In this video, we’re going to talk about the fastest way to get rid of your back fat. What is the most important thing to get rid of back fat? It’s intermittent fasting. 

Hands-down, fasting is the most powerful tool for getting rid of back fat. There are three types of fat you should know about:
• Fat in your liver
• Visceral fat (around your abdomen)
• Subcutaneous fat (just underneath the skin)

When doing a diet, the first type of fat to go away is the fat in your liver. Then, your visceral fat. Lastly, your subcutaneous fat. 

Some people work really hard to lose weight, but they can’t get rid of subcutaneous fat that causes that roll around your midsection and back. 

So how can you get rid of back fat fast? You have to do intermittent fasting. In this case, intermittent fasting is even more critical than keto. However, if you do both keto and intermittent fasting, your results will come much quicker. 
About 80% of the population would be able to get rid of their back fat if they did intermittent fasting for 18 hours a day. The other 20% would need to do 20-23 hours of intermittent fasting. 

The best thing you can do is skip breakfast. Have your first meal later in the day to increase your fasting time. 
Along with fasting, you should:
• Have less than 10 carbs a day
• Excercise 
• Decrease fat to under 70 grams if you want to see faster results
• Try drinking unsweet tea or coffee while fasting
• Get plenty of electrolytes and B vitamins
• Drink plenty of water (2 liters a day)
• Use apple cider vinegar and lemon juice
Intermittent fasting helps:
• Boost your metabolism
• Normalize your insulin
• Decrease hunger

He's right, I used to run 2 hours daily to burn 5 pds on my belly area, no results, but when I started fasting with minimal carbs, my belly had vaporized in less than a week !! people trust me !! it works !! my own doctor wouldn't even tell me anything about this, this man is a gift !

I love how flexible the IF can be. Some days I do 16:8 some days I do 20:4 Some days I do OMAD. Just listen to your body it will tell you

One extra thing that helps me is to SLOW DOWN as I'm eating. I take plenty of time chewing, being very careful to avoid shoveling it in. Eating slowly helps me to develop a more deliberate attitude toward food in general, giving food the respect it deserves. Bonus! My stomach has time to register the food in it . . . so, I feel full instead of uncomfortable and tend to eat less without suffering. Just my two bits.

Omg I was just complaining about this. I was telling my husband "why is my back fat taking to long to go away, I have been doing if and keto for 10 months now" then I see this this morning!! Thanks Dr Dr Berg. I am losing weight. I'm following all your direction. I'm the 20 percent you talk about. It's been slower for my body to kick all the way in. I have been type 2 for 10 years but I went from size 18/20 to size 10/12 lost 55 pounds, Triglycerides went from 320 to 180 so far(on my way to 149) no longer have high blood pressure. Ac1 went down and continues to go down without insulin or metformin. The dr is trying to push metformin on me. I'm not going to do it. I was on insulin for 1 year. I gained weight and my a1c kept getting higher and higher. I took myself off insulin shots and made all these improvements doing Keto and IF. You helped me the whole way. I'm also the caretaker for my hubby and that's stressful. But have made huge improvements. We always get comments on how good we look and no one believes we are in our 50s!!! Reverse aging is so true on healthy keto and IF

I tell people I do fasting daily and they say "I can't do that I need energy". Obviously they don't understand I get way more energy during my fast, plus I'm not even hungry and I'm NOT starving myself. They don't understand that my body fat is being consumed for energy.

I’ve been fasting for almost two years and I swear my metabolism JUST started fixing itself. I have just been able to lose weight! I have PCOS and I hadn’t been have to lose weight since 2016, and now, in the last 3 months, I’ve lost 20lbs. That’s without exercise. Now, I’m incorporating exercise to tone up.

Hi Dr Berg, I started watching your videos about 7 months ago. I have taken all your advice on board about intermittent fasting, foods to eat, when to eat, no snacking, and I have educated myself on hormones . After following your advice I have been intermittent fasting 16/8 every day for 6 months. Everything you have said has worked for me, not only have I lost belly fat, I've lost all over my body and I did this without all the crazy bootcamp workouts that I now understand were simply stressing my body . On TOP of all this I have found one or two people in particular whose meditations really work for me. I have shut down the white noise in my head, the negative self talk and my brain has been re trained to positive self talk. I understand now this all works together with the fasting and good nutrition to have an unstressed mind, body and I get the results I want. My mind is sharp, my body feels fantastic and I'm so happy . I'm 53 years old and people tell me I look around late 30's . Thanks to you, and your channel I feel so empowered .

I had horrible back fat. I followed the Dr. Berg keto plan and intermittent fasted for 18 to 20 hours each day. I lost back fat and love handles in 6 months apart from losing a lot of weight. I went from 38 size jeans to 32. I still have a long way to go as I want to fit into 28 size at which I feel I would look best. I also lost a lot of neck fat. But the first change I noticed was belly fat. My feet also shrank. I had horrible water retention. No longer have that now. Thank you Dr. Berg.

People when you break your fast please don’t eat garbage food. Eat some high quality protein meal and greens otherwise you’re just waste all your effort

I started Keto last June and in the first month i lost 17 lbs...when I started I weighed 309 lbs. In Aug I didn't stick to it very well as some personal things went on in my life but I got back on board in Sept. At the end of Dec I weighed at the gym and was down to 266 lbs. My A1C has dropped from being at over 11 from last Feb to being 5.1 in Oct. I no longer take any meds for Diabetes. I have been going to the gym regular now for the last 4 months and last month I started more cardio....riding a stationary recumbent bike for at least 40 minutes a day. My problem is with my belly and butt area...lol. I still have a lot of fat in these area's and it's driving me crazy. I do the fasting but after seeing this video I may have to do the 20-23 hour fast and reduce my fat intake. Thank you for your videos as they have helped a lot....
