My favorite type of magic is the one that revolves around words and runes, as it is often malleable and with an absurd amount of possibilities.

Fun fact, bullets (like everything else) are subject to gravity, so presuming that massive shell fired from the cannon is a physical object and not some magical energy construct that has zero mass, it would be subject to gravity and would have hit the surface of the lake at 0:59 with minimal results. This is why cannons aim upwards, to fire their rounds in arcs for greater distance. This is also why, for example, in naval warfare a castle on a hill or against a cliff face overlooking a bay can fire upon those below it at great range and with impunity, because their range is vastly improved by elevation while that of those below them is greatly reduced.

The sole historical exception to this is probably the Schwerer Gustav, a 1, 500-ton cannon from WW2 that could fire shells weighing up to 8 tons nearly 50 km, about 30 miles. It was barely ever used in the war, and is the heaviest mobile artillery piece in history. With explosive and armor-piercing shells available, it was able to destroy infantry, cavalry, artillery, small tanks, large tanks, small town, large town, large castles, and the local geography around its point of impact, all from a distance so vast your target literally couldn't see it coming due to the curvature of the Earth.

What I'm saying is, Lugh needs one of those.

It's so simple on the casting magic but it's so damn creative that you're thinking of it's properties, from the periodic table and other such in order to create such a magic item or just magic alone.

I might be late in realizing this, but at least when it comes to the english subtitles all the spells are words written and sounded out backwards. So “elfir etaerc” is basically “create rifle” and “erif” is “fire.” I just thought that was kinda cool and I think it applies to all their other spells too
