Whats the point of gift cards? You are literally spending money just to limit where you can spend that money. If you are going to give someone a gift card, you might as well just give them cash.

This is also a problem in Canada as well. The gift cards need to be behind the counter with a lock on it. They aren't refundable in Canada.

This has also happened with some of the visa prepaid cards hanging out on the store rack. I can believe any kind of card hanging on the rack that a customer puts money on. Everybody beware and be careful. Something really needs to be done to stop this from happening to honest consumers.

Seems like it would be very easy to identify that an unused gift card number is constantly being polled and flag it in their system...
