The button migrating to the top is very welcomed! I have the same exact issue of power button located on the right side.

Great unboxing. I've been waffling about getting a surface for a few generations. I recently watched a lot of your videos and decided to pull the trigger on a Surface Pro 9 (intel). So far I love it but the potential is a little overwhelming. So much to learn with my first touch enabled PC.

The only thing I would like really them to change on the device is the kickstand groove. I'm having troubles grabbing onto the kickstand when it's fully retracted because the groove is so small. Does anyone else have that problem? I have very small fingers, maybe you either need manly man-hands for that or just the right technique that I was not taught yet XD

The USB port on the power adapter was useless for charging my phone as it didn't put enough power out for fast charging. So that usually stays at home and I have a 60w charger which I can take when travelling with 3 USB A ports and a type C

I was able to pick up the Surface Pro 8 including Slim Pen 2 and keyboard at $899 at Costco, which I thought was a great price for this device. It is the base model with 8 gigs of ram and 256 gig ssd. Do you think this spec will last me for 3-5 years? I do just general web searches, YouTube, email, taxes, etc. I'm retired, so this is actually replacing an iPad and a laptop that went kaput. So far, I am really liking the customization and functionality that windows offers. Thanks for the clear video reviews.🙂

If I wanted to save a few $ and buy the 256gb version and then later realize I need more storage, how easy is it to replace the drive? I've replaced RAM and drives on other laptops, is it similar to that? Is it hard for regular consumers to get replacement drives? Or is it something Microsoft requires a 3rd party to do? I'm not too worried about voiding a warranty.

I was initially disappointed by the marginal improvement this year, but the repairability actually may well make it worth getting the 9 over the 8. Slightly higher initial cost but the device will last far longer.

Interesting that MS still use their proprietary charger, something that is in the process of being banned by the EU. They are forcing all devices up to 100 watts to use USB-C as a charger, for obvious reasons. I assume MS keeps them, for the same reason as Apple, to avoid short to medium-term e-waste, and consumer-friendly, as many of us upgrading from an older SP already have that charger, so nice to have a spare.

I have SQ2 SP X so interested to see if it is better. The SQ2 wasn't very good at anything more than MS apps and basic tasks, but fine for me, as that is my workflow. A little more oomph is always welcome. Benchmarks are benchmarks, and they seem to show a good generational upgrade.
