How to charge your Mercedes EQS at Electrify America for free

This is how to charge your 2023 Mercedes EQS450 SUV after your account has been activated on Mercedes Me Connect. That should have been done at the dealership with your credit card. It’s free 2 years at Electrify America for only 30 mins at a time. Anything after 30 mins it will charge you money for the rest of the charge

Lesson learned, if you don’t hear fans start in about 20 secs, unplug and insert again. I think it’s a connection problem with bulky CCS connector. The Tesla NACS connector on my other car is much lighter and significantly more reliable. I wish all EVs in USA had NACS.

I had same problem with failure to connect. Maybe solution is to re-plug multiple times. I noticed MercedesMe card wasn’t needed, but ChargePoint stalls require it.

You are only charged on your credit card if you exceed 30 minutes on a charge, percentage does not matter. I frequently charge to 90% and have never been charged. It is important to make sure that you have a credit card on file in the ChargePoint section of your MercedesMe account. If you don't, Electrify America will not authorize the charge even though the first 30 minutes are free.
