Wow. This is really well thought off. And the result is fantastic ! Thanks for the effort!

it is amazing that these diode lasers don't come with this as a standard accessory. It greatly enhances their capabilities yet even using retail parts costs less than $20.

Thanks for sharing 🙂👍🏼, Rmc Reloaded I have a question, what kind of compressor is needed for air assist? can an old compressed refrigerator fit?

buon tt RMC ... scusa ho un piccolo problema con una M30 il conetto non sembra avvitato o bloccano in nessuna maniera sembra semplicemente incastrato sl diodo come si fa a rimuoverlo per pulirlo

I just got my Atomstack A5 M40. But unfortunately this I am still testing options but this technique doesn't work nearly as well for it :( The laser is much closer to the bottom of the assembly. The OEM funnel comes down to about 2mm from the bottom of the housing, not ~20mm like shown in the video. I may be able to still get the pipe between the funnel and the bottom if I aim it fully sideways but I think that would greatly reduce the effectiveness. I intend to test it and see if I can reroute the pipe to be inside of the funnel.

not sure if i missed it in the video but whats the purpose of the wire mesh
great video though.it does appear the directed air to the cut rather than air all around the cut works better

Does it have to be metal mesh? Can I 3D print a mesh? Thanks!

have you compared this to the other style where you replace the laser head? I think your style makes more pressure but the other delivers more volume. I'm curious if there is a difference.

How did you connect M50 without motherboard?
It looks like you inverted the connectors🙃

you show marking the center of the laser but don't show why you need to do that. What is the purpose of that step?

Hi, very nice conversion, how are your experiences in the meantime? Are you still using it or are you using something else?

Nice idea, thanks for sharing. Having tried to reproduce it I saw that the rotation of the laser aluminium cone now prevents the protective glass to be correctly put in place (it can't slide all the way anymore and so it cannot be used, which is not acceptable for safety reasons). This happens whether you rotate the cone 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Unless cutting the small part of the cone which interferes with the glass (but then, this proposal is not reversible anymore), I do not see a solution. Do you concur? Any idea?

I wish I hadnt ordered the air assist from atomstack. Ordered in Februrary and still waiting. Just to appease me they gave me a fake tracking number.

I noticed in the comments that air is being used to cool the part. But in some of the reply’s the word Oxygen was used. Please do not use Oxygen. It will cause an explosion.

Great idea, does it matter what material you use for the 3d printed part, what did you use?
