Life is filled with unpredictabilities, highs and lows, and seasons of darkness and light. But when darkness hits, or life deals you a heavy blow, do not give in to negativity or draw the curtain on your life.

Rather, find ways to handle the tragedy by doing the following:

1. Avoid social isolation because it can lead to depression. It is important to note that the effects of loneliness are as adverse as smoking 15 sticks of cigarettes a day.

2. Keep your faculties alive and active because the way you think is critical to your health and wellbeing.

3. Avoid worrying. This was one of Jesus' instructions to the believer because worry doesn't solve any problem. It only makes you more anxious and could lead to desperation.

4. Avoid being stuck on things. When you hold on to things too firmly, they take control of you and can send you on a downward spiral.

Dear believer, bad things happen to everyone including good people, but when they do, remember that you are not alone. God is always with you and will bring you through the experience stronger and better.
