I've been freezing my bread products - bread, bagels, etc. for years. I buy extra when sales are on and stock up my freezer. I take my bread out of the freezer about 4 hours before use. I then put left over in a bread box. Never had any problems with spoilage, mold or hardness. If Bread is a little stale, put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds on high, and it will taste fresh again. (I am a great grandmother who learned by hit and miss.)

I was diagnosed as being diabetic about a year ago, my sugar levels were all over the place and I was told I should eat brown bread (yuk) so I read an article about freezing bread and boy it really works well, I love to freeze thick sliced white bread, when toasted straight from the freezer, the outside is nice and crispy, whilst inside is so soft, so a nice layer of butter finishes it off to a treat. My sugar levels remain pretty stable 90% of the time. 👍👍👍

I've been freezing my bread for decades now to avoid spoilage, and I have no problem with the texture afterwards because I prefer toast. For denser bread, I defrost the slices in the microwave.
I don't even have to change this habit now that I have Type 2 Diabetes.

Yep, been baking our own whole wheat loaves 2 at a time wit no preservatives, slicing it and bagging each piece in a plastic baggie. Works great!

We bake a big sour dough bread and freeze half of it just as it is. When defrosted it gets used over the course of 3 days, just like any loaf.

To save wastage I have always frozen my bread and used it a slice or two at a time. I prefer sourdough bread. In the video the toast looks burnt in the middle. I don't think that is good. Try air-fried toast, and chuck away the toaster. Put a slice of bread from the freezer into the cold air-fryer. Set to 180 degrees 2 minutes. When the thing squeaks for food, turn over the slice. At the end of the two minutes - hmm, perfect crunchy toast. Adjust depending on your air-fryer. Thanks for the information in the video.

As a diabetic type 1 all diabetics react differently to one another so it’s up to each individual to see how they react. We’ve always frozen our bread but I must try a fresh bread to see how I react differently very interesting and I’m sure there’s a benefit to be gained by many. 👍

So helpful! Just put my bread in the freezer. I eat very little of it because of the glucose spike but now I can indulge a little more often.

I start doing it....b4 toasting, I spread a layer of butter b4 putting it in the small oven. Result..yummy..
