This is amazing! I've used a lot of professional sliders and looked around for a DIY one, but a lot of them have issues with open belts-ropes. I'm almost tempted to start building the v1, but with your skill and a growing channel, it seems logical to wait for v2.

As a videographer I think one really important thing you should/could design in software is setting up multiple points and curves for them. Sometimes you have a longer shoot or an interview or a project, so you don't want to constantly go and change the speed-location-pan, but just have the camera do like 5-10 different movements within let's say 10-15min. Some professional sliders have this but they are usually pretty "dumb" and feel like DIY solutions while costing 2-4k. I feel if you have the programming knowledge and the drive, that could be something to differentiate you in this 3D/videography/slider world and maybe bring in the viral jumpstart to your channel.

As for color.. :)
For professional work I know I'm going to print your soon-to-come v2 in matte black, but since that's not great for videos and thumbnails, I'd recommend crimson red. If you look around a lot of pro video rigging gear uses that type of red as an accent color to bring out their product and still look cool & professional.

For the v2, will you be providing the software to us viewers as well?

Great work man, glad I stumbled on this video. These sliders are always so overpriced. Perfect use of my 3D printer for this.

I was talking to a friend about something like this to be used for photographing model effects shots. I was wondering how accurate this was? Can you film a model two or three times on the same track and will the shots match up so that you can overlay them in a compositor?

Hi, Is there any chance to get files required to build one?
