This will always be one of my favorite interpretations of Lois and Clark. The show started with Clark having Lana on a pedestal, Chloe having Clark on a pedestal, and Lana unwilling to make a move herself. But this version of Lois and Clark had a lot of intimacy and banter right from the start because neither had each other up on a platform, but that's also why they were in denial about their real feelings. Real intimacy is really tough, and both characters were afraid to admit that their best friend was their best match instead of the people they had their eyes on like Lana and Ollie.

Lois pushed Clark out of his comfort zone, she challenged him to be himself and not the perfect boy he always tried to be.

Jus finished watching Smallville for the first time and I’m OBSESSED with them. Lois showing up was the best thing that coulda happened to the show. Clark needed her and vice versa. Erica and Toms chemistry made the slow burn worth it 😩❤️

For me Clark Kent and Lois Lane's relationship in Smallville is one of the best slow burn build up relationships that I've ever seen in a TV show and Tom Welling and Erica Durance displayed such awesome chemistry with each other at the different stages of Clark and Lois’s relationship in the show.

Strangers who met in that field. When Clark and Lois met in that field in the season four opener they had no idea who each other were and Lois had no idea why Clark was in that field naked, little did she know it was Jor-El who put Clark back on earth to find the three stones.

Bantering and bickering friends. They were friends who loved to tease and make fun of each other but still cared for and respected each other alot.

Colleagues. When they both started working together at The Daily Planet, they made an awesome reporting team and I liked how they always helped each other out at The Daily Planet as well.

Full blown lovers. When they got together for real early in season nine, I was so happy to see it after such a long slow burn build up period ever since Lois was introduced in season four, yes their relationship was far from perfect as it had its hiccups but at least they both pulled through them and they got their happy ending together as well. Plus I loved the moment when Clark revealed to Lois he was The Blur, the moment when Clark proposed to Lois and the Clark and Lois wedding in the finale even though it was interrupted by Darkseid, plus there's many other moments that I liked between Clark and Lois in the show before and after they became lovers like the dunk tank scene in season four and the strip club scene in season five for example.

In conclusion Clark Kent and Lois Lane's relationship in Smallville was an awesome slow burn build up relationship that went through a lot of great times and not so great times but at the end of the day they had an incredible ride together in Smallville and they got their happy ending together which was so awesome to see in the finale of Smallville in my opinion. 🔴🔵👍🏻

I get Lana was beautiful and on the show for a long time, but I never got how anyone who watched the show thought Lana and Clark should be together over Lois and Clark. Lana and Clark worked better as an idea than in practice, and their relationship deteriorated over time. By contrast, Lois and Clark's bond only got stronger until everything clicked into place. They were literally on oppposite journeys with their relationship to Clark.

The way they know each other is INSANE. How people think they begun their romance too late i will never understand. Their love story started the minute Lois showed up. They set a foundation for love later and because of those years of friendship their bond is so strong. People really misunderstand what a good couple is supposed to be and they are a great example of that.
