One of my favourite savory treats is the Dutch Kroketten. Follow my steps to make this delicious snack. Please subscribe and click the bell for upcoming videos.

00:00 Intro
01:15 STEP #1 - Cook the Beef & Make the Stock
700-850g (1.5 to 1.9lbs) Beef, Sirloin tip steak used
1L or 1 pint of stock
900ml beef stock used
1 medium onion chopped 2 stalks of celery chopped1 large carrot chopped 1 TB butter
1 TB cooking oil
05:16 STEP #2 - Make the Mixture (filling)
Stock from step 1
Beef from step 1
1 Med. Diced onion
100g butter
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp Thyme
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
2 TB dried Parsley
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
13:34 STEP #3 - Make the Croquettes and Deep Fry
Beef mixture from STEP 2
3 large Eggs
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 cup regular breadcrumbs
2 cups flour
Enough oil to deep fry
Deep fry for 1 to 2 mins at 375 degrees F (175 degrees C)

Great video. Thank you. I do like this style of video to listen easily to the instruction without the conflict of the music. Background music can be there it just needs to be inconspicuous and very low volume.
I wonder, have you ever tried these in an Air Fryer? I've been loving my Air Fryer for things. Perhaps a very light spray of olive oil or cooking oil and in the air fryer (I guess a bit of trial and error for length of cooking time)? But if anyone has done these in an airfryer I'd be interested in hearing about times/temp etc.

Van alle snacks die er te krijgen zijn in Holland, mis ik inderdaad de Kroket het meest. Hier in Hongarije hebben ze er een slap aftreksel van die niet te vergelijken is met die uit Holland, ga ze binnenkort weer eens maken. Broodje Kroket, Heerlijk. Schrijf het in het Nederlands, geen idee of je dit nog kan lezen?! lol.

I intend to make this recipe to the letter, but tell me if it sounds strange that the filling might have a sprinkle of ginger in it? Every time I've had these I notice a distinct taste, but maybe it's just the nutmeg.
