Is This Too Many Gauges?

Have you ever hopped into a 90s Honda Civic and been met with an entire instrument panel of gauges that made you feel like you just took control of a 747? Well, there might be a reason for that car to have so many gauges. Today we talk about another old school tuner trend which was to have a gauge for everything under the sun. But how many is too many?

My first Honda when I was 17 in 2006 was a crx. It in fact had a tac meter.

If you don't put gauges or controls in the glove box, did you even build a car? I've put the A/C controls in the glove box of the last 3 cars I've built. Then, naturally replaced their original location with...gauges. An analog bag setup with 8 valves was 3 gauges. Come hang out some night, and I'll show you VHS tapes (Dahmer style) of the old school minitruck scene.

That was me. Back in the days I had a Chevy Cavalier Z24 and I put gauges all over it and a big tach with shift light. At that time you could buy an Autometer gauge for 10 bucks a piece. Good times.
