When the English language came into my life, ( I was 12), phrasal verbs were presented to me in a very simple way. " Memorize them." So I did. So far I have lots of collections of
books on phrasal verb, dictionaries, comic books, and so on and so decided to learn one a day, and I used to write a sentence in which "I" would always be the
subject of the sentence. As a result, I've learned many of them, and I still study them the same way. Well, it has worked for me. But I know the more I study, the more
I have to study this subject. Thank you again and again. ( I'm 78, by the way.)

English is a very complicated language. So many variables! I admire people who learn it as a second language, especially adult learners! For some reason it's a snap for children to learn a new language but usually much more difficult for adults. Bravo everyone! Thanks for these videos, by the way.

Thank you very much Gideon! I’ve always thought that phrasal verbs are the most difficult part of English to learn in my personal experience. I would like to say thank you and see you next lesson. Best regards mate

Several books I have found to be wonderful to teach (or learn) Phrsal verbs.

Phrasal verbs in use (both levels)
Phrasal verbs organiser
Jennifer Seidl's English idiom and the two exercise books (phrasal verb and idioms)
You can get them on the internet if you do your research.

I do appreciate your lessons: clear, exhaustive and never, never boring. May I dare to suggest an explanation for "hanging up the phone"? Like the Italian "riattaccare il telefono" it could result from the hanging up of the speaking- through component of the first telephones at the end of the conversation. Do you think this etymology can be acceptable? Thanking you again for your precious teaching. Best regards

On the spectrum of regularities, some languages are more based on science and rules, such as Latin, and some less. English is on the other side of the spectrum, awash with irregularities & exceptions, reflecting how the language has been evolved over centuries. As this teacher rightfully pointed, the most effective way of learning English is through continuous repetition, reading, writing, and conversing.

This is effective indeed, i've always used this method with the smartphone notes app. So far i have infinite lists that im keeping updated but i can use the search command to have an immediate feedback and it's effective because you did make it and worked on it writing down what struck you, so even if you don't remember exactly when you hear sth again you know that you've already come across it, and the second time you will learn it.
