There’s an overlap of people who will say “souls games don’t need an easy mode, you can build your character to make it easy mode” and will then look down on you and tell you to get good if you have the audacity to actually use any of those builds. I had so much more fun when I decided “fuck it, a win is a win.” Summoning, mimic tear, bloodhound step, whatever you want. The beauty of these games is that you can play it whatever way is most fun.
