I worked on one of these engines. The carburetors are garbage on these new Briggs. Thats why you can get a replacement for 10 bucks. These engines don't run very nice either.

Briggs and Stratton should be ashamed. These new engines are Chinese knock-offs of the supremely designed Honda 5hp engines. The Chinese engines (168 and 170) are plentiful; you see them in the Harbor Freight generators and a lot of lawn equipment. Parts are CHEAP on ebay (carbs go for 8.99!) and on Amazon. Some of the parts actually have "Designed in Japan" on them, LOL! I found this out when I bought a new 'Briggs and Stratton' 6.5hp engine and when I unboxed it, I quickly noticed the similarities. Briggs and Stratton used to be made in the USA...I guess they had no choice in the market.
