Minimalism Thoreau's Walden Pond Inspired My Life Change

At 18 I read Walden and it changed my life forever. I dreamt of living in a simple cabin in the woods. Thoreau spoke of the need to keep the vital heat in us .. via shelter, food ~ basic warmth. We do not need much more than that. I longed for that simplicity! It made me so crazy, the idea that I had to buy in to the system in order to make the money to eventually get out of the system! Thoreau spoke of living life at its lowest terms, learning the true genuine nature of living. He spoke of how our possessions own us vs us owning them ie our mortgage dictates to us doesn't it? I am reflecting on some of these thoughts here
