2013-2018 or 2019-2024 Ram 2500/3500, changing fuel filters is a common need and simple process. A very easy do it yourself (DIY) task to save money and also prevent being stranded if your fuel becomes gelled/waxed due to cold temperatures. Follow along as I cover the tools needed, the filters, the change process, fuel filter priming, and also a few laughs.

These trucks have a rear filter with water separator and a front final filter in the engine bay. The OEM Mopar filters have a difference in micron rating for initial rear filter and engine bay final filter.

I replaced my filters with a set from Doc's Diesel, which I purchased from Amazon (affiliate link below).

For more information on specs of the Doc's Diesel filters, the fuel filter set may be viewed on their website at the following link (no, I'm not sponsored, just sharing information).

Fuel filter change demonstrated is directly applicable to 2019-2024 (cartridge styles) and almost identical to the 2013-2018, except the rear filter/water separator is a canister style and needs to have the 'water in fuel' (WIF) sensor swapped between canisters. Thanks for enjoying, stay curious!

Although I don't have a Cummins diesel engine, I'd like to try to follow your method on my Audi TDI and Mercedes CDI. I'm just not knowledgeable with tools. I wouldn't know when to use them or what the difference is between a ratchet, a wrench, a drill, or an impact drill.
