Did You Know In CINDERELLA…

The title character actually loses her shoe more than once throughout the film. She firstly does so when on the stairs taking the breakfast trays to her step mother and step sisters. The second time is the iconic losing of the glass slipper when running away from the ball at midnight. The third and final time is when leaving the church on her wedding day. This helps to tie the big plot point of the fairytale in with an actual trait of the character.

I personally like this interpretation. Other versions with the pitch on the stairs don't need the set-up of Cinderella losing her shoes all the time to make the shoe loss not just something the plot demands.

I always imagined the magic slipper fell off because it knew the King would use it to find the girl for the prince and changed itself so no other girl fit into it except for Cinderella, and that it kept the other shoe for Cinderella as it predicted the step mother causing the first one to break.

I noticed this trend. I watched this movie a lot when I was a teenager. The movie isn't even that long. So I can notice details like that.

Dude! People in the comments are really overthinking the idea of shoes, magic and fitting. I get this kind of thinking is fun. However this is a Disney movie and a fairy tale one at that. It focuses more on emotion than logic. The basic Cinderella story may even be riddled with plot holes. However it feels so good when Cinderella gets relief and even salvation from her horrible stepfamily. That makes it even better. If overthinking can lead to a creative spin on this done-to-death fairy tale, that is fantastic. Be my guest. I came up with my own Cinderella-like character. She was a peasant that goes to a royal ball. She eventually learns how classist the society is. So she leads a peasant rebellion. That is cool.
