When Cristiano Ronaldo Was Known As CR9

In his younger days for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the most lethal wingers the game has ever seen. Because when you think of Ronaldo and his dribbling at its absolute peak – many will think of the way he danced and showed that insane flair, ripping throughout the premier league.

But we all know, that as Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid and matured through his career, he switched his game style completely to that of an absolutely lethal goalscorer and finisher.

You can debate which Cristiano Ronaldo was really the better version of him - but I personally believe what was truly the best combination of both a Manchester United and Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo was no other than the single year throughout the 2009-2010 season in which CR7 was known as CR9.

What season do you think Cristiano Ronaldo was at his best? 🤔

You know the level Ronaldo and Messi pushed the sport when 38 contributions in 50 games is labelled as "struggling" for them. Truly goats and we were lucky to have both of them at the same time.

2011/12 Ronaldo was still the absolute prime of his the range of goals he was scoring that season was just peak entertainment

Lionel Messi is fine art, Cristiano Ronaldo is a machine. Crazy that we had the 2 best players to ever play the sport at the same time, having completely opposite play styles and tearing it up.

Ronaldo in his first 5 years(2009-2014) at Madrid was his all round peak. He went from a winger to an inside forward and he became the first man to score 40 La Liga goals in a single season and the first to score back to back 40+ goals in La Liga. He won 2 Copa Del Reys, La Liga and the Champions League between his all round game peak. Since post Brazil World Cup, ever since his injury he lost his explosiveness, speed and his trademark dribbling to evolve his game to be more efficient in his goal scoring. That was his start of his goal scoring peak. He has the best goal per game ratio in La Liga, becomes the all time Real Madrid leading scorer and has over a goal per game ratio(450 goals in 438 games). Also added one more La Liga title and 3 more Champions League titles including completing the 3 peat in the Champions League. Wether you like him or not, you can't deny his greatness he brought to Real Madrid since joined in 2009.

People easily forget what this man was in the past. And even now - he still has the fire and the hunger, it's just that "time" is something even Cristiano's regime can't keep up with...

No amount of twitter revisionism will change the fact that Ronaldo was once the most complete player in history.

I hope people will stop hating and give this man a respect he deserves... watching him and messi playing at the same time is the biggest blessing we could ever have in a world of sport

IMO prime cristiano was in that 11/12 season. he had the skills, flair, and was a goal threat from any place of the pitch. Such a shame he failed to win the champions league that season.

Its awesome to show this. Most people are trying to slam him for being bad. But I just cant see it. His career is pretty insane.

During his RM days, Ronaldo was the absolute horrorstory for every goalkeeper.

After he moved to Juve, he all off a sudden began to decline. Regardless of him being already in his mid 30s back then, he still scored 30+ goals almost every season.

Obviously Ronaldo wasn't compatible with Juve, RM was just perfect for him.

If he stayed with RM, he would arguably reach 500+ goals for the team.

It's crazy that messi avoided all these major injuries. And it's crazy that Ronaldo bounced back from his. These two are scary

People have forgotten ronaldo unfortunately, no amount of clips or explanations or stats to delusional fans would be able to explain what an absolute phenomenon this guy was on the pitch, he could terrorise both the wings, he could cut inside to finish, he could do everything you could want from an attacker and even more and (all that happened in the same match and you would'nt even notice ) and it sometimes even felt like he was carrying madrid as they were at that time rebuilding after the end of the galacticos. Ronaldo came to a real madrid when Barcelona had the greatest team unarguably ever assembled, that has to speak volumes pf this guy's mentality. The 2009 to 2014 ronaldo was the best player I had ever seen play.

I choose cr7 over Messi when i witness his personal challenge against price degea .2018 world cup. Prime Ramos, Alves, coaster etc . Damn 3-3 ended with a free kick. Trust me he is miles ahead of Messi when it comes to life of death match with no ref help or fifa love

Would love to see a video on his united days, especially his midfielder days because some people (messi fans) seem unable to accept that he once was a midfielder
