You could just pop the O-ring out and put it back in before you press the fitting

Hey all. Not trying to be critical, because I'm not a plumber. But wondering why if you've already got out the flux, solder and torch, you wouldn't just sweat the whole installation? Love the channel, cheers!

Take the oring out of the progress fitting before soldering then put it back once it's nice and cool works great in tight spaces when you need to get off a wall or out of a small space you cant press in it's also a good idea if you want to press a job in but leave a solder joint close to a wall so you can sweat off in the future instead of breaking into the wall to get to the pipe you had to cut off that you shouldn't have pressed on in the first place none of which applied to the video but still it's very doable.

Also no warranty voiding here if the oring is out there's no issue soldering progress fittings there actually made much stronger and thicker than normal sweat fittings so your not gonna damage them if you solder on them as long as the oting is out I have done the exact same thing that's here in the video atleast 1000+ times amd warrantied every job and to this day over 10 years later I still haven't been back to a leak or had a complaint of a leak do your job right the first time everytime and you will be good to go

I’m sure you took the O-ring out of that prop press fitting but if you didn’t, they also have cool gel and putty. Pretty nice stuff.

Damn I’ve always wondered if that would work but never tried 😂 did you just take the o-ring out to solder and put it back after it cooled? Viega o-rings come out pretty easy
