MAY DEBT UPDATE || NEW BALANCE WITH ONE DEBT DOWN

In this video, I go over our debt balances as of the end of May 2024. We have been on a debt payoff journey since the beginning of 2022. We started with over 160K of debt, and we have been working diligently to pay it off since then. Each month I like to do an update to see where debt balances are currently and how much debt we have paid off.

I hope you all enjoy it. Thank you so much for watching!

Wow, Katie, seeing it all in black and white on a spreadsheet really brings home how hard you’ve worked to get this done and how incredibly consistent you’ve been. Through the years of watching YouTubers budget, I’ve noticed a recurring theme is budget burnout, and it’s especially exacerbated when a huge unexpected expense pops up (like your necessary new car purchase). It seems like that becomes a turning point for lots of posters, and they end up giving up because they incurred a large new debt and feel like they’ve become imposters in this space. You handled that hiccup like the pro you are, and while it was a setback, it didn’t impact your overall plan and you’ve proven goals can still be adjusted and achieved. Truly inspirational! You just keep getting it done, and I have no doubt at all you’ll continue this journey and end up successfully debt free except the mortgage in just a few years. Great job really committing to the process, you and your husband make such a great team. Today’s video made my day 😊. Thanks for posting it.

FYI: I didn't check the list with models and years however Toyota announced a recall on a number for metal filings in the engine this week.

You are doing great! I love watching your videos because you continue to be positive and have steady progress. I agree with you, once you move on from Fed loan 5, I think the balances on the highlander and sofi will start going down really quickly.

You def gotta enjoy the payoff journey. Especially paying off Fed4. That’s worth celebrating. Your debt payoff will obviously be stronger with that gone.

My wife and I live on LI, bought into rough housing market, with price and interest rate. But we had to with a 3 year old and now we have 2nd on way. Our last consumer debt payoff is our Durango and that only has a bit of over 16k left. I’m trying to pay it off before 2nd kid is born, in the fall. Then it’ll be nothing but the mortgage. I can’t believe how much you’re putting a month on your debts. You got this!

I love the tray ceiling. I miss that in my old house. As Dave Ramsey says you have a big shovel and the hole is filling up fast.
