Secret tip nr 8: don't expect to see the same person you see in the mirror. Never forget, that a mirror shows exactly the opposite of what you are (left side on the right and right side on the left) and in terms of being unsymmetrical, you may see a completely different person on your photos than in the mirror. The hardest thing for me is to hold a smile. Sometimes you smile a good few seconds before the photo is taken and end up looking creepy. A good tip I had is to look down, don’t smile, and just before the photo is taken look up and smile. It makes it more natural and not so strained.
