Thank you both gentlemen for this insightful discussion. Darrell Bricker your analysis is spot on. Can't find anything of this quality on TV these days. Worried Canadian.

Sean please have Darrell Bricker back often. My sense was that he has a deep understanding of Canada and Canadians and has lots left to speak about. Loved the interview.

Brand new Canadian subscriber here. I'm also a political junkie and I've found the ideal website at a time when Canadian politics is more interesting than the usual uproar from south of the border. Bricker & Speer ask thoughtful questions, give thoughtful answers, Bricker speaks from a wide ranging world view, they listen and don't try to talk over each other - and I learned a few things I haven't heard elsewhere. I'll be back.

Gentlemen, thank you! I have remained a political junkie since I got out of active game some time ago. Since Dec 16, its been a gorgefest full of ear ringing noise from talking heads. Your very reasoned discussion here was a politcal culunary delight.

The role of the U.S. in global climate agreements is a key point of debate.

Pierre needs to keep focus on making Canada prosperous again by working with like minded provinces & making deals with trump

Regarding the comments about Mark Carney, I hate it that we now need someone with “star power” to lead our political party’s. Would seem to invite all sorts of insincere characters.

Another YouTuber posted the last 30 minutes of the Pierre Poilievre/Jordan Peterson interview, which was paywalled, so not seen by most of the public. PP very clearly states he thinks he can work with trump on mutually beneficial deals for both countries, starting with doing what trump demands now (border, etc). Very Kevin O’Leary-ish. I think he’s naive, quite honestly. With trump’s transactional winner/loser mentality I think rushing to placate him puts us in the weak “loser” category right from the get-go. I also believe any deals with trump will be slanted heavily towards a US advantage, and not to our benefit. I’ve never seen anything by trump that would lead me to think differently.

The movement in your background gives me migraine headaches. Please stop your background from moving.

Darrell Bricker is perhaps the SMARTEST Canadian I have heard, in the last decade, discussing Canadian politics ... w/o much bias 🙂

why are you discussing old old issues and events. the world is nothing like it was in 2015... get into the issues in the now. be in this world today.

Darrell Bricker, a noted Conservative is disingenuous. On national unity, three of the four western provinces have for years been governed by dogmatic conservatives who for political reasons assail the Liberal government's progressive policies without evidence i.e. the carbon tax. Every responsible economist in Canada will tell you the carbon tax is the most logical and fair way to tax pollution. Canadians other than Bricker don't think our relationship with the USA is the next important feature of a PM. Canadians worry about employment, housing and how much money they have in their pockets at the end of the month. It's the economy stupid, not the Americans. Lastly Canadian identity is not a fundamental feature of Prime Ministerism. Canadians learn in school, in business and in life how lucky we are to have a country which for example has universal health care. We know who we are. You can see it in every international hockey game or Olympics we participate in. Bricker is sewing confusion due to his own biased confusion on the three things that make a great PM.
