Hi! The reference design of an HX711 board has a connection between E- (or BLK) and GND. Without this, you have a greater tolerance at the measured values and a higher temperature sensitivity. The most of the green colored boards haven't this connection. If there isn't between E- and GND a resistor near zero ohms, add a connection to it with a very short cable.

Do you think this will work with a linear strain guage? I have the HX711 chip, just not spent the time to play with the code yet. nice vid thanks.

Well done! Your zero functionality was spot on. I have been looking at the HX711 boards for quite some time. After watching your video I just purchased 2 of them to get started. I'm going to try and incorporate some loss in weight analysis into a coffee roaster that I'm building. Should be fun....thanks again for posting this!
