I don't know how Pat's and Genos are still in the conversation with such serious contenders in every corner of the city. That's like saying Times Square has the best pizza in NYC.

I need to find a company to hire me to eat delicious sandwiches all day. Like I know these guys do other things, but I just want the sandwich part.

I always loved going to Jim’s Famous Steaks on South Street. Many celebrities show up there and they make excellent cheesesteaks.

I've lived within blocks of John's Roast Pork for 8 years now and before this video came out, I took my bike out for 20 miles and rewarded myself with my first cheesesteak from there afterwards. What a surprise to see this video today.

The secret to a great cheesesteak is the roll. It has to be extremely fresh and sturdy enough to stand up to all the beef drippings, but yet not too tough. I also think that provolone is the best cheese option.

The genuine friendship between you two is the absolute best part of all of this. Love it, make more!

Also, the best Philly sandwich is DiNics Roast Pork at the Reading Terminal Market. Give it a try.

as a born and bred philly native, both whiz and american are acceptable on a steak. To me, whiz is more of the downtown/city style and what people from out of town associate cheesesteaks with, but the American cheese is the go to for locals for sure. If someone from Philly is getting themselves a cheesesteak for dinner on friday night they are most likely going to get American cheese. Both are great and honestly even though I have eaten a thousand cheesesteaks I could still probably eat one everyday. They really are a go-to staple for us

John's Roast Pork is the clear winner. Not too fine, not too thick steak. Cheese and onions are mixed through out so you get some in every bite. The bun isn't too thick. All the ratios are in harmony and you get that unctuous, juicy, savory bite - this is the single most important factor. Also, onions are always a must. Optional, but highly recommended, would be hot peppers for that acidity and heat.

Miss my Philly food scene. I’ve always said Philly is an underrated food haven. There’s so many great places to get great food. Best hoagie rolls in the world…it’s all about the bread 🥖, can’t find anything close to east coast breads anywhere else ❤

Amoroso hasn't been the standard roll in the region for about 20 years. Aside from maybe Lee's and Slack's, only a few pizza shops and corner delis still use Amoroso rolls. Most of the "soft" rolls are from Liscio's bakery these days, and the crusty seeded rolls are typically from either Sarcone's or Carangi.

As a former Philly boy, ago, I learned to love cheesesteaks before 1st grade. Now old as dirt, having traveled far and wide, I am still in love with the hometown Philly cheesesteak. Whose? Shaddapp, I love 'em all. THANK YOU for bringing us another great video, and special shout outs to the crew for an outstanding shoot! Nicole, you nailed the camera work and the post; Charlie, you're the boss; Harry & Joe, you made it fun! Love also to Connor & Emily. GREAT CONTENT.

Had Angelo’s in south Philly a few weeks ago and it was the best I’ve ever had. Nobody retouches the bread, quality meat, cooper sharp cheese. Amazing.
