Diamond or Netherite armor is not the best armor in Minecraft. There are many different situations where different armor pieces are better. Like how leather boots are useful where there's powder snow. Or how a turtle helmet is useful underwater. Or maybe the elytra is useful in large caves.

Leather boots use: immune to powdered snow

Elytra use: in case of exploring or falling from a cliff

Golden pants use: immune to piglins

Here is what you should do:
You should have a shulker specifically for armor
1:Place a gold helmet/boots so piglins don't attack you
2:Place leather boots so powder snow doesn't affect you
3:Place a Turtle helmet so you can survive under water for longer
4:Place an Elytra and fireworks so you can fly to travel faster
And always wear full netherite armour or the best armour you have. But when you want to fly, swim underwater, walk on powder snow or go to the nether than you can use these armour pieces along side the Netherite armour

When your a stock player use water bucket on powder snow and using enchant like to survive much more longer in water I forgot what enchant so about falling in a cave just do a clutch or do a enchant on your booth I forgot the enchant you can say it here and plus when pvp it's useful

If I have maxed gear, I never bother with leather/gold/turtle helmets, they just aren’t worth the hassle when you can’t really die to those things anyway. Elytra obviously is useful for everything, I keep it in my hotbar so I can hotswap between it and my chestplate whenever.

Respiration enchanted helmet gives more time to breathe underwater than the turtle helmet

The best explorer armor:

Helmet: turtle helmet for less chance of drowning

Chestplate: elytra for flying and exploring

Leggings: gold for when your going to the NETHER

Boots: leather for walking on powdered snow

You can use each separately and replace some with netherite when your not in that situation but elytra is needed
