Skyrim: Age of Aggression - Live Cover by Malukah

The talented fan and musician Malukah continues to rock Skyrim fans' worlds as she debuts her live cover of "Age of Aggression." If the hauntingly beautiful covers of the Skyrim theme and "The Dragonborn Comes" weren't impressive enough, this latest cover will have you running to take lessons at the Bards college in Solitude.

I normally like to play both sides of a game with a binary (or at least semi-binary) allegiance/morality system. But for Skyrim...I just couldn't do it.

Ulfric was charismatic and sympathetic. I *liked* him as a person. But I couldn't ignore how ugly his movement had become, even if it carried his name. And when I saw him in the afterlife, I liked his character even more because of how he plainly saw that he'd been damaging his homeland in a time of strife. And that's putting aside the fact that I met the so-called "Child-King" and saw that he was a slight young man that Ulfric basically murdered to try and be named king on an ancient technicality, and that said 'Child-King' had faced Ulfric with honor despite knowing how hopeless it was to oppose him.

It's rare that a game gets a chance to present the villain post-mortem where they genuinely have a chance to say that they were wrong, and Ulfric was a patriot at heart. He was *horrified* by what he had caused because he had never truly cared about being king. He had cared about Skyrim and the Nords, and when he saw what a mistake he had made, he made no excuses for what he'd done.

And similarly, I sympathized with the Legion. They'd been attacked by literal demons during the events of Oblivion, at the heart of their power-base, no less, and they were repaid for that sacrifice with betrayal. Their colonies decided to lash out against them. Their enemies pounced on them without delay. And ultimately, they held on, with the support of Skyrim...until Ulfric showed up.

Honestly, I think Age of Aggression has a lot better pacing than Age of Oppression. I bet it's the "original" if you want to play canon.

That and of course, Malukah as always, nails it. Such an awesome voice.

i still can't understand why so many joined the stormcloaks... "the empire tried to kill me" is no reason... i've often been attacked by stormcloaks in the wilderness without reason (i didn't even join a faction) and ulfric is also a puppet of the thalmor if you read the thalmor-book about him... also tullius is talking about attacking the thalmor after killing ulfric...anyway LONG LIFE THE EMPIRE! :D
