Well Done Wouter, It is about time someone published the build of a proper laser alarm system. why do some idiots bother to post their so called ALARM systems that just stop when the laser hit the photo resistor again, ? Idiots, well done again.

Good morning. I was seaching for some ideas on a project I'm working on and came across your work. I'm part of a team and we train baseball and softball umpires for youth sports. We want to build a laser grid to identify a strike zone when we are training on the plate. We want to build a frame (approximately 8' wide and 8' tall) and install lasers on all four sides. The top and bottom lasers would be mounted 2.5" apart to provide a width of 17" to identify the width of the plate and the sides would have laser set to identify the height of the zone (elbows to knees). These lasers would provide the grid. During training, the ball would be delivered via a pitching machine, with a catcher and umpire set to call the pitch a ball or a strike. We want to use the lasers to identify the pitch a ball or a strike, by lighting up a bulb, one for a ball and another for a strike. The ball would enter the grid and have to break both the vertical and horizonal beams to be considered a strike. A pitch could be over the plate and break the beams going up and down, but if it was up out of the strike zone high, it would't break the horizonal beams and would be a ball. The lights would be out of the view of the plate umpire and they would call the pitch and the light would verify if they called the pitch correct or not. I've seen lots of videos on single beam set up but nothing on a grid with a light attached. I would appreciate any help offered. I have a pic of a frame that was built with the lasers, but we can't figure out the board makeup and how to make sure the ball breaks both vertical and horizontal beams to be identified as a strike. Thanks.

Do you have any written instructions? It’s kinda difficult to read the wire diagram.

*Thanks. Built a "laser tripwire" for a prototype, but it seemingly only functions nicely in a dark room and seems VERY susceptible to changes in ambient lighting. Is that simply how it is unless using a much more powerful laser? What about adding a visible light filter or something such as that?*

Nice project!
Can you gently add 4 more LDR sensors to the code, if laser is broken in one of them lights and buzzer activate.
Thanks in advance

I tried to make this project and did exactly what you did and everything is working but the buzzer keeps ringing and does not stop when laser strikes on LDR... And I noticee that you cut a part in your video and the buzzer stoped, so can you tell what you did there?... Please reply fast it's urgent

Thanks for the video. It works properly. But I need to edit the code like this. In this buzzer works until we press the push button. I want to know how to give a time delay for the buzzer? If we press push button or it buzzer 10 minutes it needs to continue. Please Help me.
