Open Your Heart - Crush 40 - Guitar COVER

This was the first song I heard by Crush 40.. I remember first playing Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast and thinking "Woah sonic got an overhaul in 3D in all areas" when this song kicked in during the intro. It made me fall in love with Sonic games all over again and more importantly.. take up learning to play guitar!

This is and will always be my favourite Crush 40 song ever. Finally getting to cover it using the Sonic guitar. I first fell in love with the guitar seeing Jun playing it on stage for the Sonic Adventure unveiling (albeit miming but still cool)

Notes:

Intro uses delay - dotted 8th.
I lowered the vocals slightly and removed all the guitars from the original - every guitar you hear in this is me.
I double tracked this so it wouldn't sound all mono but the cover is live recorded and it did take a few attempts to get a near perfect run.
The power chords with the 3rds in the main riff - I added in after because they sound a little weird too high in the mix so I mixed it to sound more like the original.

Damm i remember when you first posted this cover like 15 years ago. Mind was blown back then. Its amazing to see how much your playing has matured since then. Timing, technique, tone clarity, note accuracy, and adding your own personal touch like the little spice near the end of the solo. Really cool to see how far you come, and still look forward to seeing every new video that comes out!
